| 2001 Schedule/Results Harvard 3, Northeastern 0
Harvard controlled the Huskies from the outset, scoring just 6:24 into the game and rolling to a 3-0 win over Northeastern on Monday afternoon in Allston. Kevin Ara took a long cross from Jeremy Truntzer and his diving header beat NU goalie Allan Lewis for the only goal the Crimson would need early in the first half. NU was forced to play a man short for most of the game after Oumar Thiam received a red card following a hard sliding tackle from behind early in the first half. Ara assisted on Harvard's second goal, sending a cross to Marc Buan who beat Lewis 2:16 into the second half. The Huskies managed just three shots, while Harvard had 18. NU Keeper Allan Lewis left the game with a severe ankle sprain in the final minute of play and was replaced by Helder Pires, who saw his first action of the season.
