The Northeastern University men's soccer team (0-2) dropped the second game of the season, 2-0, Monday, Sept. 2 against Boston University at Nickerson Field.
BU junior forward Petur Sigurdsson scored the first two goals of the game for the Terriers. Just 11 minutes into the game Sigurdsson put in a missed shot by teammate Shaun Taylor. Less than a minute later he scored again, this time heading a pass in the left side of the goal from Terrier defender Jon Jonsson.
The Huskies failed to score a goal for their second straight game, after being shutout on Saturday by Quinnipiac. Northeastern’s best scoring chance came when Nick Lueders, a freshman forward, eluded the BU goalkeeper and sent away a shot that was saved by defender Dan Schultz.
Sophomore goalkeeper Scott Partridge played in his first game for Northeastern. The Hartford transfer play all 90 minutes, allowing three goals and recording two saves. BU goalkeeper Hrafn Davidsson made two saves for the shutout.
The Huskies managed just three shots on goal in the game.
Northeastern plays its third straight away game Friday, Sept. 7 at 3 p.m. against Providence at Glay Field.
