Men's soccer 2009 schedule released
The 2009 Northeastern University men's soccer schedule has been released, the team announced on Monday. The Huskies open the season with at Albany on Sept.1. NU's first CAA game is at James Madison on Sept. 26 and the CAA Championship is Nov. 10-15. NU is coming off a second-place finish at the CAA Tournament in 2008.

Vidarsson named third-team All-Region
Sophomore Petur Vidarsson was recently named to the NSCAA All-South Atlantic region third team. Vidarsson was one of thirteen CAA players to earn All-Region honors, and was part of a Husky defensive unit that set program records in several defensive categories.

Huskies end successful 2008 season
The Huskies ended their season with a 1-0 loss to George Mason in the CAA Final game, but finished over .500 (7-5-9) for the first time under head coach Brian Ainscough. The team posted one of the greatest defensive seasons in Husky history as they broke team records in shutouts (10), fewest goals allowed (17) and tied for fewest losses in a season (5). Northeastern loses three starters, but returns an experienced group in 2009 as they make the push for the program's first NCAA Tournament berth since 2002.

Huskies fall in CAA title game
The men's soccer team dropped its final match against George Mason 1-0 in the CAA championship game at Wilmington, N.C. on Sunday afternoon. The Huskies end the season with a record of 7-5-9, 5-2-4 CAA. Keeper Scott Partridge made six saves on the day. The Huskies' Lars Okland, Alexander Volk and Brendan Ennis were named to the All-Tournament team.

Huskies advance to CAA finals with win
Huskies advance to CAA finals with win The Huskies beat UNC Wilmington 5-3 in penalty kicks to advance to the CAA Finals Friday night. Captain Brendan Ennis made the winning penalty kick as the Huskies played to their second shootout win in the tournament. Keeper Scott Partridge recorded his tenth shutout of the season, which leads the CAA. The Huskies will next play on Sunday at 1 p.m. against George Mason for the CAA title.
