Men soccer’s goalkeeper Scott Partridge has been named CAA Co-Player of the Week, the league announced Monday morning. He shares the honors with Daniel Roberts of UNC Wilmington.
Partridge, a junior native of Whitinsville, Mass., made seven saves in two 1-0 wins over Boston University and James Madison. The two shutouts continued a shutout streak for Partridge, which is now at four games. Partridge is tied for the lead in shutouts in the CAA with four on the season.
Against BU, Partridge made three saves, including some key stops late in the second-half to thwart any chance the Terriers had to tie the game. He also made four saves against James Madison on Sunday to hand the Dukes their first CAA loss of the season.
The four consecutive shutouts is the longest streak in NU’s history. The Huskies have had streaks of three consecutive shutouts three times before in the ’98, ’06 and ’07 seasons.
In his first season as a starter, Partridge has 40 saves and a 0.81 goals against average in eight games while leading the Huskies to a 3-2-3 record.
Northeastern is back in action on Saturday at 2 p.m. as the Huskies visit Georgia State for their second conference game.
