Four first-place finishes highlight Battle of Beantown
Two-time All-American senior Nate Hunter won his sixth-consecutive shot
put title of the season as one of four first-place finishes for
Northeastern at Harvard’s Battle of Beantown on Saturday at the Gordon
Indoor Track. The Huskies finished in fourth place out of the Boston
Beanpot schools as host Harvard ran away with the crown with 166 points. Northeastern continues its indoor season at Boston University next
Friday and Saturday at the Valentine Invitational. The women will
compete on Friday, Feb. 12 starting at 1 p.m. while the men will have
their turn on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 9 a.m.

Boston Indoors Games bears another Hunter record
For the second consecutive week, senior Nate Hunter has reset the
school record for the shot put with a winning chuck of 19.49m
(63’11.50) at the Boston Indoor Games at the Reggie Lewis Center, powering the
Huskies to a second-place team finish. Two weeks ago, Hunter originally broke the Northeastern benchmark with a toss of 19.37m (63’6.75) at the Harvard Invitational. The Huskies return to Harvard to take on all challengers in the Battle of Beantown on Saturday, February 6.

Hunter lands spot on CAA's Silver Anniversary team
Senior, two-time All-American Nate Hunter was named to the Colonial
Athletic Association’s Silver Anniversary team for men’s track and
field on Thursday evening. The 25-man contingent includes 20
All-America honorees, 13 CAA Athletes of the Year and six athletes who
competed in the Olympic Games. Northeastern is set to host the
Boston Indoor Games on Friday, Jan. 29 at the Reggie Lewis Center. The
throwing events will start at 4 p.m. while the runners will commence at
5 p.m.

Hunter breaks NU record, owns country's best mark
Senior shot putter Nate Hunter rewrote the record books on Saturday at
the Harvard Invitational by recording the longest toss in Northeastern
University history with a winning mark of 19.37m (63’6.75”). Hunter, a
two-time All-American, automatically qualified for the NCAA
Championship on Friday, March 12 in Fayetteville, Ark. with his
record-setting heave. The Huskies will take a weekend off before returning to the Reggie
Lewis Center to host the Boston Indoor Games on Friday, January 29.

Hunter breaks own record at Dartmouth
Senior Nate Hunter posted the second-best mark in Northeastern history
with a toss of 18.98m (62’3.25) in the shot put at the Dartmouth Relays
to win his third straight title of the season. Sunday’s feat marks
Hunter’s longest-career toss. The Northeastern indoor record was set by Derek Anderson on March 5,
2006 with a mark of 18.9m (62'6.5) at the IC4A Championship. Northeastern’s next meet comes at the Harvard Invitational on Saturday, January 16.
