New Balance Armory Collegiate Invitational
Payne won the 400 in a Northeastern record time of 46.71 seconds, beating his closest rival by over a second. On Friday night in the preliminary round, he won in a time of 46.99 seconds, which was also under his old standard of 47.06 seconds. The NU indoor record before Payne became a Husky was 47.75, set by Michael Ferrari during the 1979-80 season.
On Friday night, Anderson threw the shot put 56'5.25 to place second among 21 competitors and score eight points.

New Balance Armory (New York, NY)Although Northeastern only entered two athletes in the New Balance Armory Collegiate Invitational, those two athletes - Idris Payne and Derek Anderson - combined for 18 points to give the Huskies a 13th-place finish out of 33 teams on Friday and Saturday in New York, N.Y.
