Goals

*The self-study will provide an opportunity for internal and external review of the athletics program. In addition, broad-based participation will educate the constituencies of the Northeastern community about the values and challenges of the athletics program.

*The University will examine and evaluate the Athletics department’s adherence to its own mission and the University mission as well as its adherence to the operating principles of the NCAA and the conferences with which it is associated.

*The University will review the implementation of the plans for improvement contained in its 1996 NCAA certification report and the Strategies for Improvement identified by the NCAA Committee on Athletics Certification.

*The self-study will enable the Athletics department to review and evaluate its effectiveness regarding current goals and objectives and to enhance the policies and procedures of the department.
