Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Mission Statement
The mission of the Northeastern University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is to provide a vehicle for effective communication between student-athletes and the athletics administration; provide leadership opportunities; create a sense of community within the athletics department; encourage participation in University programs; promote a positive student-athlete image on campus; engage student-athletes in programs that reinforce athletics department ideals of Classroom Success, Community Involvement, and Competitive Excellence; and promote the overall development of the student-athlete as a person in order to enhance the student-athlete experience.

Some SAAC events include:
• Husky Wish Gift
• Student-Athlete Date Auction to benefit the Home for Little Wanderers
• Passion Plunge to raise money for the Special Olympics
• Providing Athletes With Support (PAWS)
• Other community service projects

The Husky Wish Gift
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committe has launched a new philanthropic initiative: The Husky Wish Gift. The Husky Wish Gifts are small grants given by the Northeastern Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) to Boston-area individuals, teams, or community organizations that work to increase youths' opportunity to participate in sports and exercise.

Mission & Vision of the Husky Wish Gift
Husky Wish Gifts are small grants given by the Northeastern Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) to Boston-area individuals, teams, or community organizations that work to increase youths' opportunity to participate in sports and exercise.

The vision of the Northeastern SAAC Husky Wish Gift Committee is to develop a strategic, philanthropic framework that is self-sustaining to be utilized annually to support the youth in the communities surrounding Northeastern University. The committee hopes to accomplish, through these gifts, a greater opportunity for developmental enrichment through sport and exercise for these youths. In the Northeastern athletic community, it aims to develop a sense of philanthropic culture among student-athletes so wherever our education and athletic determination takes us in the future, we have the tools to help others benefit from our success through philanthropic efforts. Lastly, the committee desires to see this framework duplicated in SAAC committees in other universities to benefit multiple communities around the country.
