Fugge earns the honor after she took home three events and placed second as part of the 400-yard freestyle relay team in the Huskies meet against Boston College last Friday. It is the second consecutive week in which Fugge has earned a victory in multiple events. She will lead the 3-0 squad into a pod meet at Old Dominion with James Madison, Drexel, and William and Mary on the weekend of Nov. 6-8. The accomplishment comes just a year after she set an American record in the same event at the 2008 CanAm Championships. Becherer, a Sheboygan, Wisc. native, swam a 32.92 to displace the old record of 33.62. She also won gold in the 100 fly and the 100 backstroke.
