The Northeastern volleyball team swept America East opponent Drexel, 3-0, Friday night at Cabot Gym. The win improved NU to 12-11 overall and 5-1 in conference action, as the Dragons fell to 6-20 on the season and 1-6 in America East. The first game was won by the Huskies, 15-10. The game featured back and forth action throughout much of it, until NU pulled away and went on a 9-4 run. Kristin Deatherage and Erin Spangler led the Huskies with five kills apiece. Game two again showcased some action from both sides, but NU came out on top 15-7. Deatherage had another strong game, recording a .500 hitting percentage. The third and final game of the match was once again all NU. The Huskies jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, capping the match with a 15-9 win. For the Huskies, Deatherage led the team with 12 kills and nine digs. Setter Suzana Stojakovic dished out 29 assists, while serving up a pair of aces. NU finished the match with a respectable .234 hitting percentage (38 kills, 107 total attacks). Next up for the Huskies is America East foe Towson on Saturday at 4 p.m. in Cabot Gym.
