Ursillo at World Championship

Husky photoKristin Ursillo and teammate Chrissie Zartman, finished strong at the first FIVB Under 21 World Championship in the history of beach volleyball. A total of 31 countries participated, representing the 5 continents. The event took place in France from Aug. 24-26. Each match was decided by the best of three games. Competing against the Netherlands, Ursillo and Zartman won the first game 22-20 and then the second 26-24 winning the match. In the round of 16 Ursillo and Zartman were knocked out of competion by Slavakia losing their first game 21-15 and the second 21-13. Ursillo turned 19 on Aug. 22 leaving her eligible to compete for two more years in the under 21 tournament. Zartman will be a freshman at UCLA in the fall.
