The Northeastern University volleyball team moves to 3-2 in the CAA as they defeated Towson in four games at Solomon Court on Saturday afternoon. Senior setter Ivana Pavlisin posted a team-high 34 assists to help set up a 69-kill day for NU. Four husky hitters recorded 10-plus kills led by Kira Batura’s 18 kills on a .308 attacking percentage. The Huskies’ two senior co-captains both hit over .300 as Ashley Reeves tallied 13 kills and Whitney Turner added 14 more.
In one of the Huskies’ best defensive matches they limited the Tigers to 64 kills and a .219 hitting percentage. NU posted 10 total team blocks, their second most on the season. Sophomore Lauren DeTurk recorded two solo blocks and one assisted while sophomore Brittany Eukovich added five block assists. Leah Neubeck played well defensively with a match-high 23 digs and a perfect reception percentage with 22 service receptions.
The Huskies are now 5-7 overall and will face non-conference opponent, Maine at home on Sun., Sept. 24 at 2 p.m.
