After jumping out to a two-game lead, The Northeastern University volleyball team fell 3-2 to Delaware on Saturday night in Newark.
With 21 digs in the match, Kira Batura raised her career total to 1377, breaking the 15-year-old school record of 1365 set by Chris Frein-Hale in 1991.
Ashley Reeves led three Huskies with double figure kills as the co-captain posted a team-high 14 kills on an efficient .448 attacking percentage. NU’s other captain Whitney Turner also had a big night at the net raking up a match-high .600 attacking percentage with nine kills.
Brittany Eukovich played an all-around solid match as she posted a .417 attacking percentage on 12 kills with six block assists.
In an evenly played match, the Huskies committed six fewer errors than the Hens and posted four more blocks but couldn’t handle one of the CAA’s best scoring combinations as Delaware’s Colleen Walsh registered a match-high 62 assists, 26 of which ended up as kills for Colleen Walsh.
NU continues a four-match road trip at James Madison on Fri., Nov. 3 at 7 p.m.
