Northeastern reversed its fortunes in the second set. Despite being down 12-5, the Huskies would rally to knot the score at 13 all. Northeastern never trailed from that point onward and would take the set 25-17 to even the match at 1-1. Lauryn Ciszek recorded two of her career-high three kills in the set.
The Huskies would have another rally in store in the third set, as UNC Wilmington jumped out to a 10-4 lead. Northeastern would close the gap to one before two-straight errors from the Seahawks gave the Huskies a 14-13 lead. A service ace from Brown and a kill from Ciszek pushed Northeastern to a four point edge, leading 20-16. UNC Wilimgton would pull to within two, but the Huskies would stave off the run, winning 25-20 to take a 2-1 lead.
Facing defeat, UNC Wilmington would respond in the fourth set, once again grabbing an four point lead before a Northeastern timeout. The Huskies would gradually close the margin to tie the score at 11-11, however the Seahawks would use a 10-3 run to go up 21-14 and a Lindsey Strucko kill would give UNC Wilmington a 25-18 victory to force a fifth set.
In the decisive set, the Huskies took a 9-7 lead before a UNC Wilmington timeout. A kill from UNC Wilmington's Kimberly Friedl would cut the lead to one. Northeastern responded with a kill from Jillian Robinson and a service ace from LaScola for a three-point cushion, and Brown would cap off her career day with the final kill to give Northeastern the win, 15-12.
The Huskies had five players reach double-digits in digs, with Leah Neubeck leading the way with 21. Caitlin Tittl matched a career-high of 14 digs to go along with nine kills.
Tkachuk's triple-double was her fourth-straight and fifth of the season. It was Brown's third triple-double of the season.
