From the beginning it looked like this was going to be an uphill battle for the Huskies. The Orangewomen opened the game up with a 9-0 run that proved to be the difference in this one in the long run. Northeastern battled back and grabbed a six point advantage at the half and extended it to nine with just 30 seconds into the second frame. Syracuse then began to chip away and with 6:44 remaining in the game they grabbed a two point lead which they kept for the rest of the way. Despite the loss, five Huskies scored in double digits, Genny Caruso (10), Beth Hanewald (10), Lani Lawrence (12), Wanda Almengot (12) and Garrette Glinton (11). Tesha Tinsley also added nine points and eight assists in the losing effort.
