| 1999-2000 Schedule/Results Northeastern 61, Harvard 42 Tesha Tinsley scored a game-high 18 points, including seven in a decisive 11-0 run, to lead Northeastern to a 61-42 win over Harvard in a Div. I women’s basketball game at Cabot Gym on Saturday. Wanda Almengot added 10 points and 7 rebounds for the Huskies, who improved to 5-5 on the season. Beth Hanewald had 7 points, 9 boards, 5 assists and a career-high 6 steals for NU. Melissa Johnson paced Harvard with 12 points and a game-high 12 rebounds. The loss broke a three-game win streak for the Crimson, who dropped to 6-4. NU led 30-26 at the half and used an 11-4 run to stake an 11-point lead at 41-30 with 14:18 to go. Jennifer Monti (8 points, 5 assists) made a three-pointer on Harvard’s next possession to trim the edge to eight, 41-33, but the Crimson would get no closer. After Monti’s basket, Harvard went into a 7:14 scoring drought as the Huskies scored 11 straight points to build a 19-point lead (their largest of the afternoon) at 52-33 with 7:07 to go. Tinsley had seven points in the 11-0 spurt, hitting a three-pointer, a short jumper and a pair of free throws. The first half was tight throughout with eight lead changes and four ties. Sarah Johnson’s layup with 8:20 to go before intermission gave Harvard its last advantage of the day, 17-16. Garrette Glinton’s jumper on the other end put NU ahead to stay and started a 6-0 surge for a 23-17 lead with 4:29 to go. Monti made a 15-footer in the final seconds of the first half to get the Crimson within four, 30-26, at the break. VISITORS: Harvard 6-4
