| 1999-2000 Schedule/Results Vermont 74, Northeastern 67 Northeastern lost to conference-leading Vermont on Thursday, 74-67. When the Huskies last visited Patrick Gym it was for the 1999 America East Championship. NU won three straight games and advanced to its first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance. Games against the hometown Catamounts have been less memorable, however, and Thursday's was no exception. The Huskies have now lost 11 of their last 12 against UVM in Burlington. NU had an off shooting night (39.4) or it may have upended the Catamounts. Top scorer Tesha Tinsley made just 6-19 field goal tries. The Huskies also had an uncharacteristic poor night at the free throw line, hitting 12-22 (54.5). Like the NU-UVM game in Boston Jan. 22, the Huskies jumped out to the early lead. Up 9-3 and then 19-13, NU allowed a 13-0 Vermont run that put the Huskies behind 26-19 with 5:44 left in the first half. The Catamounts took a 36-30 edge into intermission. The Huskies trailed 48-40 with 14:36 left to play, but scored six straight points to get within two and 12:43 showing. Vermont went on a 20-8 surge over the next seven minutes to build a game-high 14-point lead and put the game away. Freshman Garrette Glinton matched a career high with 17 points and added eight rebounds. Tinsley finished with 15 points and added 12 rebounds, a season-high total for the 5'6 senior guard. Dawn Kressman led the Cats with 19 points, while Karalyn Church netted 17. After allowing Delaware 19 offensive rebounds in a 66-61 loss on Saturday, the Huskies certainly did a nice job on the boards Thursday. NU outrebounded UVM 42-29 and allowed the Catamounts only four offensive rebounds. VISITORS: Northeastern 13-11, 8-6
