Northeastern fell behind 31-19 at the half and was outscored 43-27 after intermission in losing 74-46 at Vermont on Sunday.
Lani Lawrence led the Huskies with 14 points, while freshman Aisha Williams netted 10. NU had a poor afternoon shooting the ball, making only 32.7 percent from the floor for the game, including a 29 percent performance in the first half in which NU dug itself a double-digit deficit.
The game was tied at 11 with 11:55 to go in the first half when UVM went on a 19-6 run to take the lead for good and open a commanding 30-17 edge with 2:24 left before the break. Melissa Kowalski scored the last points of the half to make it a 12-point game at halftime.
NU got within 10, down 34-24, but would get no closer as the Catamounts reeled off six straight points for a 16-point advantage, 40-24, with 15:34 showing. With NU continuing its cold shooting, the Cats continued to pour it on, opening a 23-point lead, 55-32, with 6:43 to go.
Vermont led by as much as 30, 74-44, before Meghan Kenny scored her first basket of the season for the game's final points.
Morgan Hall led four UVM players in double figures with 15 points.
NU has now lost 11 of its last 12 meetings with Vermont overall and seven straight to the Catamounts in Burlington. UVM has never been an easy place for opponents; the Huskies have dropped 13 of their last 14 against Vermont at Patrick Gym.
