The second annual women's rowing Beanpot went again to Radcliffe by a solid two-boat length victory.
The Cliffies covered the 2000-meter Charles River course in 6:24.0 to NU's 6:31.4. BU was third at 6:38.7, BC 6:56.9 and MIT 7:05.2.
Radcliffe established a half-length lead over the Huskies at the 500 meter mark. Even at this early stage of the race, these two shells had cleared BU, BC and MIT. Radcliffe, the fourth seeded Eastern Sprint crew, opened their lead to eight seats at 1000, then gained open water on fifth seeded NU at 1500.
Within the Beanpot, the Jeanne Rowlands Cup versus Radcliffe was contested with the Cliffies extending their Cup lead to 21-4 and the annual BU race, which was won by NU, narrows the series to 19 for BU and 8 for NU.
The Huskies, now 12-2, will row Columbia in the Woodbury Cup at Orchard Beach Lagoon Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
