Katherine Glessner, a current senior at Northeastern University, has been named to the U.S. Under-23 National Team Eight. She will represent the U.S. in the World Rowing Championship in Bredenburg, Germany July 17-20. This will be Glessner’s second trip to the World Championship.

Glessner helped the U.S. win the gold medal in the Under-23 World Championship in 2006, but injured her shoulder training with the ’07 team. She was not able to recover fast enough to row for the Huskies in the Spring of 2008, but was cleared to row again in May.

At Northeastern, Glessner developed into a fine rower. She was voted Outstanding Varsity Oarswoman in 2006 and team MVP in ’07. She also received second-team All-America and first-team All-New England honors in 2006. Glessner is from Seattle, Wash., and rowed varsity for two years at Holy Names Academy.
