The Northeastern University women’s rowing team will compete in seven races during the 2009 season, including the first ever CAA Championship Regatta which will be held Saturday, April 18 in Philadelphia, PA.

The Huskies will open the season on the Charles on Saturday, April 4 against Dartmouth, Boston College and Rhode Island. The races will start with the novice boat at 7:36 a.m. and conclude with the varsity boat at 8:48 a.m.

On April 11, the Huskies will travel to Syracuse, NY to take on Pennsylvania and Syracuse in the Orange Cup. NU leads the series 15-9 (Penn) -5 (Syracuse). Races will take place from nine until 11 a.m.

After traveling to the Schuylkill River for the CAA Championship Regatta, Northeastern will return home to host the Charles River Challenge Saturday, April 25- Sunday, April 26. Boats from Radcliffe, Boston University, Yale, USC, Virginia, Tennessee and Gonzaga will compete in the two-day event, with Saturday’s races running from 8:20 to 11 a.m. and 4:45 to 6:45 p.m. Sunday’s races will begin at 7:20 a.m. and conclude at 9:20 a.m.

Saturday, May 2, the Huskies will be busy as they compete in the Beanpot, Jeanne Rowlands Cup, Woodbury Cup and Women’s Council Cup against Boston University, Radcliffe, Boston College, MIT and Columbia. The races, which will take place on the Charles, will begin with the varsity 4 at 7:48 a.m. and conclude with the varsity boat at 9:36 a.m.

Northeastern closes out the season in Camden, NJ, competing at the EAWRC Championship on Sunday, May 17 and at the NCAA Championship on Friday May 29- Sunday, May 31.
