Three Huskies tapped for Hockey East All-Star Game

Senior Lindsay Berman, sophomore Florence Schelling and interim co-head coach Linda Lundrigan will represent Northeastern at the Hockey East All-Star Game on Sunday, Nov. 22 at the Whittemore Center in Durham, N.H. Composed of 24 student-athletes from all eight Hockey East schools, the squad will face the U.S. National Team as part of its 2009 tour in preparation for the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Lundrigan will serve as an assistant coach along with UConn's Jaime Totten and Providence's Meredith Roth. Boston College's Katie King will assume the head coaching duties.

The offensive and defensive leaders of the Huskies this season, Berman and Schelling were easy choices to represent NU on the ice. Berman leads Northeastern with nine points in nine games, while Schelling has posted a 6-1-1 record and a national-best 0.74 GAA and .970 save percentage. Schelling took home three Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week honors in October and was named Goalie of the Month by the conference on Nov. 3.

The U.S. National team defeated the WCHA All-Stars, 6-1 on Sept. 25, and the University of North Dakota, 11-1 on Oct. 10. Team USA will also face the ECACHL All-Stars on Jan. 3 on the campus of Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Conn.
