Schelling wins seventh defensive award

Sophomore Florence Schelling earned her sixth Hockey East Defensive
Player of the Week honor on Monday, and her seventh overall defensive
award this season. The Oberengstringen, Switzerland native posted a
25-save shutout against Vermont on Wednesday, before stopping 30 of 32
shots on Sunday vs. No. 4 New Hampshire. Schelling leads the nation
with a 0.99 GAA and a .964 save percentage.
In addition to Schelling's six Defensive Player of the Week nods, she was also awarded the Hockey East Goaltender of the Month honor for October. Schelling posted a 6-1-1 record in eight October games, claiming a spectacular 0.74 GAA and a .970 save percentage. In November, Schelling continued her sparkling play, recording a 3-2-2 record and a 1.32 GAA. In 14 starts this season, Schelling has allowed one goal or less in 11 games.
Schelling and the Huskies return to action on Friday, Dec. 4 at Boston College at 7 p.m.
