| 2004-05 Schedule/Results Northeastern 2 , New Hampshire 5
Northeastern lost their fifth Hockey East match up on Thursday night with a 5-2 loss to New Hampshire. The sixth-ranked Wildcats are undefeated in Hockey East contests with a 6-0 record. Northeastern has lost seven in a row to drop to 2-13-1 on the season. Nicole Hekle of UNH got the scoring started in the first with her 10th goal of the season thanks to an assist from Lindsey Caleo and captain Stephanie Jones. Northeastern answered with a goal only a minute later. Chrissy Sands scored her first goal of the season after missing the last three games. She stepped into the lineup to replace the injured Jennifer Beaudoin who is out with a shoulder injury. Jessica Coppney and Missy Elumba assisted Sands on the play. The assist was the first collegiate point for Missy Elumba who joined the Huskies lineup five games ago. Coppney has scored in both games since she joined the second line alongside Marie Desrosiers and Ashley Bielawski. The Wildcats responded with a goal off the ensuing face-off to regain the lead. Stephanie Jones put the puck in net thanks to an assist by Nicole Hekle. Marisa Hourihan had 12 saves on the period and was able to stop UNH on their lone power play chance. Northeastern tied the game early in the second period thanks to Missy Elumba's first goal of her career. Elumba finished the night with two points for her first multi-point game. Ashley Bielawski assisted on the play. Later in the period with the game tied at 2-2 Stephanie Jones scored her second goal of the game and 11th of the season. Nicole Hekle who was involved in each of UNH’s first three goals assisted her. Northeastern had two power play opportunities in the period but could not capitalize. Their best chance came midway through the period when UNH’s goalie Maghan Grahn went out of the crease to stop a Nikki Petrich shot. The puck squirted away from her and slid across the goal line but no Husky was able to put it in goal. UNH entered the third period with a one-goal lead but quickly added an insurance goal by Taylor Palazeti. Shannon Clement put the puck on net and Marisa Hourihan could not control it as Palazeti put it in goal for her eighth goal of the season. Nicole Hekle added her second goal of the game later in the period to put the game out of reach. Hekle finished with four points on two goals and two assists. Marisa Hourihan continued her impressive streak with her fifth consecutive 40+ save game finishing the contest with 40. The Huskies will take on Princeton on Saturday. The game will be played at Matthews Arena and is set to start at 1 pm.
