| 2005-06 Schedule/Results Northeastern 4, Brown 2
Ashley Bielawski scored two goals, while Crystal Rochon and Amy Goodney each netted a goal and an assist for the Northeastern women's hockey team, which topped Brown 4-2 on Tuesday, Nov. 29 at Matthews Arena. Marisa Hourihan made 41 saves in the victory, including a first-period penalty shot, which upped NU's record to 3-11-1 on the season. The Huskies erased a 2-1, third-period deficit with three unanswered goals to finish off the game and win their second game in their last four. Bielawski knotted the score at two 4:24 into the third on a one-on-one for her sixth goal of the season. Cassie Sperry passed the puck up the near-side boards, and it deflected off an assistant referee right to Bielawski, who proceeded to rip a wrist shot high to the blocker side of Nicole Stock (27 saves) and just underneath the crossbar. The junior followed that up with the game-winning goal at 14:09 of the period, stuffing home a rebound of a Cassie Sperry shot. Jennifer Beaudoin grabbed the puck on the near point and ripped a shot toward the net. Sperry deflected the blast into the goaltender, but Bielawski pounced on the rebound and buried it to put NU ahead 3-2. It marked the third time this season that Bielawski has registered two goals in a game. The Huskies added an insurance goal just 25 seconds later, as Stock was caught out of position going after a loose puck. Rochon stole it from the goalie, and passed to Goodney, who was waiting at point-blank range. The junior slipped the puck into the empty net for her second tally of the season at 14:34. The Bears notched their two second-period goals in a span of 2:12 toward the tail end of the second. The first came at 17:13, when Brown executed a perfect offensive zone faceoff. Myria Heinhuis won the draw cleanly to Hayley Moore, and Moore split the defenders and put the puck low past Hourihan from point-blank range to tie the game at one. Brown followed that up with a 4-on-4 goal at 19:25. With NU on the power play, Brown’s Lindsay Wilde got a shorthanded break, but was slashed by Nikki Petrich on the play, negating the advantage. The Bears got the equalizer just 32 seconds later, with Margaret Ramsay scoring her third goal of the season from between the circles. Kim McManus was credited with an assist on the play. The Huskies struck first just 34 seconds into the second, with Rochon notching her fifth goal of the season. Petrich took the puck from behind the goal and found Goodney in the near circle. Goodney passed up the shot and found a wide-open Rochon, who beat Nicole Stock to the far side. The first period was scoreless between the two teams, but Brown got a golden opportunity at the 8:28 mark, when Margaret Ramsay was hauled down by Petrich and was awarded a penalty shot. Ramsay went low to Hourihan’s right, but the senior kicked the puck away to keep the game knotted at one. The Bears outshot NU 12-7 in the first. Northeastern held Brown to 0-for-5 on the power play, with Hourihan doing most of the dirty work. The Bears put 18 shots on net on their five man-advantages, including 13 during their two second-period power plays. NU went 0-for-8 on the power play for the evening. The Huskies return to action on Saturday, Dec. 4 at 2 p.m. when they host Maine for a Hockey East matchup. The Black Bears and NU tied 1-1 in their only meeting this season, an Oct. 23 contest in Orono, Maine. Hockey Game Box Score (Final)
