| 2005-06 Schedule/Results Boston University 3, Northeastern 1
Marisa Hourihan made 47 saves, but the Northeastern women's hockey team was topped by Boston University 3-1 on Tuesday, Feb. 14, in the final round of the 28th Annual Women's Beanpot Tournament at Harvard's Bright Hockey Center. Ali Bielawski netted a second-period goal for NU, which finished its season series with BU with a 2-2-0 record in the Terriers first varsity season. The two teams skated through a scoreless first period, as the Terriers held a 4-8 shot margin. The Terriers got three power plays in the frame, but Hourihan was able to hold off the BU attack. Northeastern went 0-for-2 while up a player in the first. The Terriers struck first in the second period on a scrum in front of Hourihan. Jessica Lortie tried a backhand wraparound, and the rebound was snapped home by Laurel Koller who crashed the net for her 13th goal of the season at 19:16. Nicki Wiart was also credited with an assist on the tally. But NU replied just 13 seconds later to send the teams to the locker room tied at one after two periods. Erin Reil fed a pass through the crease right to Ali Bielawski, who netted her fifth goal of the season at 19:29. Colleen Sanborn had the secondary assist on the play for the Huskies. Northeastern had a strong opportunity to take the lead 5:46 into the third. Courtney O'Connor sprung Nikki Petrich up the right-hand side for a 2-on-1 break. Petrich slid the pass to a streaking Meredith Miller, but the sophomore was hauled down by Gina Kearns, who was called for holding. The Terriers killed off the penalty and then added insult to injury by hitting Kearns on a home-run pass as the freshman jumped out of the box. Caroline Bourdeau picked up an assist on the play which came at 7:53 of the third and put BU up 2-1. The Terriers made it two in less than a minute, striking at 8:49 to make the lead 3-1. The Huskies turned the puck over in the defensive zone, and Koller stole it away to walk in alone. Her shot hit Hourihan in the chest, but the puck bounced loose and Wiart stuffed it over the goal line for her 12th goal of the season. With 1:04 to play, Rochon unleashed a wrist shot from just inside the blue line, and the shot deflected off the ice and bounced off the far side post to keep the Terriers up 3-1, and BU held on to win by that score. In the second period, Hourihan eclipsed another milestone in her NU career as the goaltender became just the fourth Husky netminder to log more than 4,000 minutes in her career. The senior now has logged 4,035 minutes and has 2,290 saves in her four years for the Huskies. Northeastern returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 18, at Vermont's Gutterson Fieldhouse at 2 p.m. Hockey Game Box Score (Final)
