Northeastern (6-5-2, 3-3-0 HEA) suffered a 2-0 loss to the No. 8 Boston College Eagles (9-3-3, 6-2-1 HEA) at Boston College's Conte Forum Sunday. After defeating Northeastern on Nov. 1, Boston College claims the season series victory. Northeastern won the season series between the two schools last year when Boston College was heavily favored.
Sunday at Conte Forum, the Eagles struck first with a quick goal from Kelli Stack 23 seconds into the game. After that, Northeastern would not allow another goal until the third period. The teams played mostly even through the first two frames, with the shots even at 20, and each team going 0 for 1 on the power play.
BC extended their lead to two goals with a Danielle Welch strike 6:31 into the third. Northeastern managted seven more shots in the third, but could not beat Boston College goaltender Molly Schaus to get on the board, and finished the game behind 2-0.
Northeastern travels to Vermont and New Hampshire on Dec. 6 and Dec. 9 to close out their 2008 schedule.
