The Huskies suffered a 3-0 loss to the No. 7 New Hampshire Wildcats Tuesday at the Whittemore Center in Durham, N.H.
New Hampshire got on the board first, at 11:23 in the first when Jenn Wakefield scored her team-leading 14th goal. She added a shorthanded strike in the second to extend the Wildcats' lead. Florence Schelling and the Huskies' defense kept the Huskies within striking distance, but a quick goal from UNH's Micaela Long in first minute of the third period to put the game out of reach.
The Huskies' power-play, which has been effective this season, struggled against the Wildcats, as the Huskies went 0/7 on the man advantage.
On the night, the Huskies generated plenty of offense, managing 22 shots to New Hampshire's 24, but the Huskies could not beat Wildcats' goalie Lindsey Minton to get on the board.
Northeastern is off until the new year, resuming play Jan. 2 when Yale visits Matthews Arena for a non-conference matchup.
