Kehoe tallied five points in Northeastern’s two games this weekend. She scored a goal and added an assist against Rensselaer Oct. 3, and scored three goals against Union Oct. 4 for her first career hat trick. Her three-point game against Union also ties her single-game career high. Her last three-point game came at Minnesota on Oct. 5, 2007.
The sophomore forward comes off a 2007-08 season in which she led the Huskies in scoring with 25 points on 11 goals and 14 assists. This performance ranked second among rookies in Hockey East, and ninth among rookies nationwide. She also finished third in the league in powerplay goals and sixth in powerplay points. She was voted NU Rookie of the Year by her teammates, and was named to the Hockey East All-Rookie team along with teammate Leah Sulyma. The pair was the first Huskies duo to make the All-Rookie team in the same year since 2002-03.
Kehoe was a key part of one of the highlights of Northeastern’s 2007-08 season. She contributed four points in three games against the nationally ranked Boston College Eagles as Northeastern won the season series, 2-1. Northeastern’s Dec. 8 win over the Eagles was the first time in history that an unranked Huskies squad defeated a ranked opponent.
Kehoe comes to Northeastern from Bakersfield, Calif., where she played six seasons for the California Selects hockey team. As captain of the Under-16 team in 2005-06, she scored 33 goals and added 21 assists for 54 points and led the team to a second place finish at the national championship. In 2004-05 she led the team to an Under 16 national championship, scoring 58 points on 35 goals and 23 assists. She is a graduate of Liberty High School, where she played two years of basketball and three of track and field.
Northeastern travels to Minnesota for two games against Bemidji State Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. and Oct 11 at 3 p.m. The Huskies open their home schedule Oct. 18 when they host Providence at 1 p.m.
