Kelly Renie notched her second two-goal game of the year, and Kristin Chapman picked up the first of her career in the Rebels' 5-0 victory over Northeastern Sunday at Ole Miss Soccer Stadium. The Rebels continue their best start since 1999 with a perfect 4-0 mark.
The Rebel defense registered its second straight shutout and third of the year, holding the Huskies (0-2-2) without a shot in the first half. Ole Miss finished with a 23-4 edge on shots, with only two NU attempts on goal.
Junior goalkeepers Brittany Gillespie and Heather Wilemon combined on the shutout, and Wilemon recorded a pair of saves in her first appearance of 2002. NU goalie Cynthia Slowik had 7 saves.
It was the second straight lose for the Huskies who next travel to take on Iona Thursday at 3 p.m.
