| 2002 Schedule/Results Northeastern 4, Rider 3
Northeastern rallied from a 3-2 deficit with a pair of goals less than two minutes apart and held on for a 4-3 win over Rider in a non-conference game at Parsons Field on Sunday. Sarah Artale scored her second goal of the game for Rider at 70:23 to put the Broncs ahead 3-2. NU tied the game at 75:59 when Kelly Smith took a feed from Liz Dyjak and scored her second goal of the afternoon. Smith then assisted on the goal that proved to be the game winner as she set up freshman sensation Jess Pfeifer just 1:28 later. Pfeifer netted her team-high fourth goal of the season at 77:27. The Broncs never threatened to tie the game as the Huskies controlled the rest of the action in the Rider end. Jeannette Trembly replaced Cynthia Slowik in net for the Huskies after Rider's third goal. She made one save to earn her first collegiate win. Artale put the Broncs on top at 17:23 of the first half, but Smith answered for the Huskies off a cross from Pfeifer at 19:52. The game remained tied 1-1 at intermission. Rider reclaimed the lead when Marianne Hanna scored unassisted off a rebound at 45:35. Again, the Huskies responded as Jennifer North worked through traffic to tie the game 2-2 at 58:53. Freshman Fillipa Petruccelli was credited with an assist on the play. The Huskies will play five straight road dates, starting Friday at Long Island, before returning home to meet New Hampshire on Oct. 11. Scoring
