Jess Pfeifer scored twice in just over three minutes and Cynthia Slowik posted her second shutout of the season for Northeastern, which won its fourth straight game with a 3-0 triumph over Long Island at LIU Field. Pfeifer's first goal of the game with 8:27 left gave the Huskies (4-2-2) a 2-0 lead. She stole the ball in the Blackbirds end and fired a shot from 15 yards out past sophomore goalkeeper Kristin Skinner. Northeastern gained a 3-0 lead with 5:13 left in the game. Pfeifer took a pass from Fillipa Petruccelli and blasted a shot inside the top left corner for her team-leading sixth goal of the season. Slowik needed to make just one save for her third win of the season as the Huskies benefited from a 14-5 shots advantage. Jessie Haidamaka had four shots for Northeastern. The Huskies took the lead in the 37th minute when Jennifer North took a feed from Jill Link and put her shot inside the right post for her third tally of the season. LIU (2-6) had its best chance to score in the opening minute of the second half. Sophomore Nichole Lopez had a breakaway against Slowik, but pushed her shot wide left. Skinner made four saves and freshman Meghann McCormick took two shots for the Blackbirds, who have dropped four straight. The Huskies will be at Stony Brook in their America East opener on Sunday at 1 p.m. Scoring
