Northeastern University freshman, Veronica Napoli, was named to the 2008 NSCAA/adidas All-Northeast Region first team for NCAA division I women.

Napoli had an outstanding rookie season as she led the Huskies with a scoring line of 12-5-29. She earned the CAA Rookie of the Year Award and was also named to the All-CAA third team and the All-CAA Rookie team along with teammate Gabbi Jatkola. The speedy freshman scored her first collegiate hat trick in an overtime win against Drexel.

The Huskies are coming off their best season in program history. They won the CAA Championship and made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the first-time ever. The Huskies also posted a nine win improvement and scored 28 more goals than in 2007.

Prior to Northeastern, Napoli played for the Prout School where she holds records in career goals (128) and assists (50). She was an All-State first team selection her final two years and a second-team All-State in her sophomore year. The team went 19-0 and won the state title her sophomore year as well. Napoli attended the Region I Olympic Development Pool for 2007-08 and participated in the Rhode Island State Olympic Development Program from 2006-08.
