Huskies place third at the Battle of Beantown
In the spirit of early February in Boston, the Northeastern women’s
track & field team placed third it in its own version of a Beanpot
at the Battle of Boston on Saturday, Feb. 6 at Harvard University. The
Huskies were powered by three first-place finishes and 17 top three
showings. Northeastern continues its indoor season at Boston University next
Friday and Saturday at the Valentine Invitational. The women will compete on Friday, Feb. 12 starting at 1 p.m. while the men will have
their turn on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 9 a.m.

Northover and Shaw selected to CAA's Silver Anniversary team
On Thursday, Zara Northover and Tramaine Shaw of Northeastern were
named to the Colonial Athletic Association’s Silver Anniversary team
for women’s track and field. The 25-woman contingent includes 16
All-America honorees, eight CAA Athletes of the Year and three athletes
who competed in the Olympic Games. Northeastern is set to make its third trip to Cambridge to compete in
the Battle of Beantown on Feb. 6 hosted by Harvard University.

Walker named Student Athlete of the Week
Senior Consandria Walker of the Northeastern women’s track & field
team has been named the Student Athlete of the Week after her two
first-place finishes at the Boston Indoor Games last Friday. Walker’s two wins at the Reggie Lewis Center came in the 55-meter dash and long jump with respective marks of 7.21 and 5.75m. Northeastern makes its way north along the red line to compete in the
Battle of Beantown in Cambridge on Saturday at Harvard’s Gordon Indoor
Track.

Huskies take over first place at Boston Indoor Games
The Northeastern women’s track & field team claimed its second
team title in the last three outings powered by four first-place
finishes at the Boston Indoor Games at the Reggie Lewis Center on
Friday evening. The Huskies beat out 16 other squads for the title,
totaling 135.25 points along the way. The Huskies return to Harvard to take on all challengers in the Battle of Beantown on Saturday, February 6.

Youth directs Huskies at Harvard
The Northeastern women’s track & field team put its best foot
forward at the Harvard Invitational on Saturday, finishing with a pair
of titles, five second-place performances and six third-place showings. Freshman Laura Coyne earned her first collegiate victory in the 800-meter race with a winning-mark of 2:24.62 while Jillena Decarteret, another Northeastern newcomer, claimed her first-career victory by springing or 3.50m in the pole vault. The Huskies will take a weekend off before returning to the Reggie
Lewis Center to host the Boston Indoor Game on Friday, January 29.
